Depends what you mean FTA. If you mean real FTA, it will be around
forever. If you mean the "FTA" lie in which people use modified FTA
receivers to steal encrypted ExpressVu and/or Dishnet signals, then
that will go away when they turn off Nagra 1. (the lie is in them
calling it FTA, the truth is that those that use modified receivers to
receive encrpyted services are stealing it).

Gary is right Free To Air has been around since the conception of Sat Tv in
the late 70's and we should all know the story after that
what else you do with is your business..not Gary's concern

Nope. FTA/DVB has been around ten years or so.
I guess it was the introduction of mpeg 1.5 which sometimes were and
still sometimes are FTA.

I have been watching free TV since 1979................so who cares whether
it is 8-track, cassette, CD, Mp3 or what....it all plays music and

launched Telstar I in the mid sixties

Free TV has existed since TV was invented. Pay TV is the new shit
people should have boycotted.

I'll probably just get flamed for this, but here goes nothing...:

Which FTA is the best? The Blackbird... the Pansat 2500A... the Fortec
Ultra, etc. Or they all pretty much the same thing?

Thank You

The Balckcird is a theft receiver, not and FTA. Calling it an FTA is
an injustice to the legitimate FTA users. Pansat and Fortec receivers
with modified software are the same, theft receivers.

It is called hack for the purposes of defeating security. It is the
end result of defeating security (which the BB and modded FTA
receivers do), which some people fdon't seem to get is stealing.

The BlackBird is just another clone. No more, no less. I believe a non
decoding factory firmware exists for it as well. The sellers on the
other hand, well I would stay far away.
