I live in the US and receive StarChoice using a 30 inch dish in Northern
Ohio. The satellite switching is done using a 22 Khz tone. My question is:
are the French channel frequencies (and other channels) not utilized on the
main satellite? If there is info on the same frequencies on the main sat,
there would be interference. This is unless the older (French) sat is
circularly polarized and the main horizontal or vertical. Also, I have been
told that that StarChoice system differs is some fundamental way from the
transmission method used for DBS. Starchoice is a medium power system and
uses horizontal and vertical polarization but what other fundamental
differences exist? Thanks.
