I have a Starchoice 401 system and I'm trying to figure out how to record a
satellite channel and watch another. Is this possible. My VCR seems to
display the names of the channels and often the programs, but does not seem
to differentiate between channels, but lists them as Line1. Is there a way
to set it up so I can do this.

Thanks

NO, since the Navigo is acting as the only tuner, you can only record what
is being watched.
Unlike digital cable where you can split the feed and watch 1 show and
record another.
If you had a secnd receiver then use 1 to record and the other to watch.
Or wait for the DSR-530 with dual tuners so you can record 1 show while
watching another.
Their press anouncement says the DVR should be out sometme this summer.

No. The VCR only records the signal coming from the satellite
receiver, The satellite receiver sets the channel, one at a time.
To tune two separate satellite channels at once, you need two
receivers.
