"Serial" port on Navigo 401?

Hi all,

I'm a SC subscriber with a Navigo 401 receiver. There's a port on the back
of the unit that looks like a standard serial port interface. Its manual
doesn't have a single word on it.

What is its intended purpose? Is there any documentation on it? I can
hardly find anything on the Navigo 401 on Google--I've always been under the
impression that the 401 was a Motorola-something-or-other rebranded for
Starchoice--if I knew the exact make/model maybe I'd have better luck
finding anything...

Anyone?
